Terms of Use
Welcome to CVMatch. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the CVMatch website, platform, tools, features, and related services.
You may submit only CVs or resumes and job descriptions for their intended matching purpose. Uploading or submitting unrelated documents, files, or text is prohibited.
1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
CVMatch ("CVMatch", "we", "our", or "us") provides tools that help users analyze how closely their CVs align with job descriptions. The Platform may extract text, identify relevant skills and keywords, classify terms, and generate matching scores and analysis.
By creating an account, accessing the Platform, uploading documents, or using its services, you agree to comply with these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not access or use CVMatch.
You must be at least 18 years old or have the legal capacity required to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law.

Users may submit their own CVs or resumes for analysis, provided the documents use supported formats and are submitted for CV-matching purposes.
2.3 Submit Job Descriptions
Users may paste or otherwise submit genuine job descriptions for comparison against their CVs. Users must have the rights or authorization required to use the content they submit.
2.4 Analyze CVs Against Job Descriptions

- Compare a CV against a job description.
- Identify skills and keywords in job requirements.
- Identify corresponding skills in a CV.
- Review hard skills, soft skills, and other keywords.

3. Strict Upload and Submission Restrictions
CVMatch is strictly limited to CV and job description analysis. Users may submit only:
- CVs or resumes intended for analysis.
- Job descriptions intended for comparison against a CV.
3.1 Prohibited Uploads
Users must not upload or submit:
- Academic assignments, essays, research papers, or theses.
- Business reports, proposals, or presentations.
- Invoices, receipts, bank statements, or financial records.
- Identity documents as standalone uploads.
- Medical records or health documents.
- Photographs, videos, or audio files.

- Legal documents unrelated to CV or JD matching.

- Any other material unrelated to CV and JD matching.
3.2 Prohibited Text Submissions
The same restrictions apply to text fields and other submission methods. Users must not paste general questions, conversations, unrelated writing requests, or other material into CV and JD fields.
A job description must genuinely describe a job, position, internship, or other employment opportunity. Unrelated text does not become an acceptable job description simply because it is submitted in the JD field.
3.3 Enforcement
CVMatch may reject, block, remove, or restrict submissions that appear to violate these rules. Repeated or deliberate misuse may result in temporary suspension or permanent account termination.
4. Prohibited User Conduct
4.1 Unauthorized Personal Information

4.4 Automated Access
Unless expressly authorized, users must not use bots, crawlers, scraping tools, or automated systems to access the Platform at scale, create multiple accounts, or conduct bulk scans that disrupt normal service.
4.5 Fraud and Unlawful Activities
Users must not use CVMatch to facilitate fraud, identity theft, false employment information, intellectual property violations, or other unlawful conduct.
4.6 Interference With Other Users
Users must not harass, threaten, or intimidate others, access another user's account or scan history, or interfere with another person's legitimate use of the Platform.
5. How Users Should Use CV-Matching Results
5.1 Matching Scores Are Estimates
Matching scores represent the Platform's calculated level of textual alignment between a submitted CV and job description. They are not universal measures of professional competence, suitability, or employment prospects.
5.2 Classification May Be Imperfect
Automated analysis may miss relevant skills, identify irrelevant terms, misclassify phrases, overlook equivalent wording, or misinterpret context and formatting.
Users should review identified skills, categories, and matching results rather than relying on them without verification.
5.3 Users Are Responsible for Their Applications
Users remain responsible for the accuracy, honesty, and completeness of their CVs and applications. Results must not be used to fabricate qualifications, skills, or experience.
5.4 No Employment Guarantee
CVMatch does not guarantee:
- Shortlisting, interviews, or job offers.
- Recognition of CVMatch scores by employers.
- Successful passage through an applicant tracking system.
- That the analysis reflects an employer's actual selection criteria.
5.5 No Recruitment or Career Advice
CVMatch is a software tool, not a recruitment agency, employment agency, career counsellor, or professional hiring authority. Its output should not replace professional advice where such advice is necessary.
6. User Responsibilities
By using CVMatch, users agree to:
- Provide accurate registration information.
- Keep account credentials secure.
- Use the Platform only for its intended purpose.
- Submit only permitted CVs and job descriptions.
- Ensure they have the necessary rights to submit content.
- Review the accuracy of extracted text and matching results.
- Respect the intellectual property and privacy rights of others.
- Comply with these Terms and applicable laws.
- Report suspected unauthorized access or significant security issues.
- Avoid actions that damage or disrupt the Platform.
Users are responsible for activity conducted through their accounts, subject to applicable law and CVMatch's own legal obligations.
7. Account Registration, Security, and Termination
7.1 Account Creation
Some features require an account. Users must provide the information requested during registration and must not create accounts using false or misleading identities.
7.2 Account Security
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their credentials. If an account is suspected to be compromised, users should secure it and contact support.
7.3 Voluntary Account Closure
Users may request account closure or deletion through available settings or by contacting the support channel. Closure may result in loss of access to scan history and other account-related information.
Some information may be retained where required or permitted by law or necessary for legitimate security, operational, or dispute-resolution purposes. The Privacy Policy explains relevant retention practices.
7.4 Suspension or Termination by CVMatch
CVMatch may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts where reasonably necessary, including when a user:
- Breaches these Terms.
- Repeatedly submits prohibited content.
- Attempts to compromise Platform security.
- Engages in fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity.
- Interferes with Platform operations.
- Creates a material security, legal, or operational risk.

Where appropriate and legally permissible, CVMatch may provide notice and an opportunity to address a violation. Immediate action may be taken to address serious threats, suspected fraud, legal requirements, or significant harm.
7.5 Consequences of Termination
Termination may restrict access to Platform features, interrupt active scans, or make scan history inaccessible. Paid subscriptions will be handled according to applicable terms and law.
8. Subscriptions, Payments, and Cancellations
This section applies if CVMatch offers paid plans, subscriptions, credits, or other paid features.
8.1 Free and Paid Features
Features, scan limits, pricing, and restrictions applicable to each plan will be displayed on the Platform or in the relevant purchase information.
8.2 Pricing and Payment
Users agree to pay the price and applicable charges disclosed at purchase. Currency, taxes, transaction charges, and payment processing fees will be disclosed where required.
8.3 Recurring Subscriptions
Where subscriptions renew automatically, the renewal frequency, amount, and cancellation process will be disclosed before purchase.
8.4 Subscription Cancellation
Users may cancel through the applicable account or billing settings, or by contacting support where that option is provided. Unless otherwise stated or required by law, cancellation prevents future renewal but does not automatically provide a refund for the unused portion of a billing period.
8.5 Refunds
Refund eligibility is determined by the refund policy presented at purchase and applicable law. Non-waivable consumer rights are not removed by these Terms.
8.6 Failed Payments
If payment fails, CVMatch may notify the user and provide an opportunity to update payment information. Unresolved payment issues may result in restrictions on paid features, subject to applicable law.
8.7 Changes to Pricing
CVMatch may change prices or subscription structures. Where required, users will receive advance notice of changes affecting existing subscriptions and applicable cancellation rights will be respected.
9. Intellectual Property Rights
9.1 CVMatch Ownership
The Platform, including its software, design, branding, interfaces, original content, and underlying systems, is owned by or licensed to CVMatch and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Users must not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, or commercially exploit protected Platform materials without authorization, except as permitted by law.
9.2 User Content
Users retain the rights they hold in their submitted CVs and job descriptions. By submitting content, users grant CVMatch the limited rights necessary to process the content, provide the requested services, maintain scan history where applicable, and operate the Platform in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
This permission does not transfer ownership of a user's CV or job description to CVMatch.
9.3 Third-Party Content
Job descriptions may be owned by employers, recruitment agencies, or other third parties. Users are responsible for ensuring their use and submission of such content is lawful.
9.4 Feedback
CVMatch may use voluntarily submitted suggestions and feedback to improve its services, subject to applicable law and appropriate handling of confidential personal information.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
CVMatch may process personal information and document content when users register, submit CVs or job descriptions, and use the Platform. The separate Privacy Policy explains how this information is handled.

- Uploaded CV content and extracted text.
- Submitted job descriptions.
- Matching scores, skill classifications, and scan results.
- Scan history and related usage information.
- Technical information needed for security and operation.
10.2 Original Files and Extracted Text
Where CVMatch does not retain original uploaded CV files, the Platform may process a file to extract its text and store extracted text and analysis results for scan history. Extracted text may still contain personal information and must be handled accordingly.
10.3 User Data Rights
Depending on applicable law and circumstances, users may have rights to access, correct, object to, or request deletion of personal information. Requests may be submitted through the privacy contact provided below.
10.4 Purpose of Processing
CVMatch is intended to process CVs and job descriptions for CV-matching purposes. Additional uses must be explained in the Privacy Policy and supported by an appropriate legal basis where required.

Interruptions may occur due to:
- Scheduled maintenance or software updates.
- Technical failures or connectivity problems.
- Third-party service interruptions.

CVMatch may modify, suspend, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, operational needs, or business decisions, subject to applicable law and existing commitments.
Document quality, formatting, language, file size, and extraction limitations may affect processing accuracy and speed.
12. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
12.1 Informational Service
CVMatch is provided as a tool to assist with CV and JD analysis. To the extent permitted by law, CVMatch does not warrant that every document will be processed successfully, every skill will be detected, every result will be accurate, or the Platform will meet every user's expectations.
12.2 User Decisions
Users are responsible for decisions made using CVMatch results, including whether to apply for a position or change a CV. CVMatch does not control employers' hiring decisions.
12.3 Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, CVMatch and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the Platform.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including applicable consumer protections or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
12.4 Submitted Content
Users are responsible for the content they submit and for ensuring they have the necessary rights and authority. This does not remove responsibilities that applicable law places on CVMatch.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
CVMatch may rely on third-party services for hosting, payment processing, analytics, authentication, or technical functions. The Platform may also link to external websites, including employer career pages.
Third-party services and websites may have separate terms and privacy policies. CVMatch does not control external websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, or practices, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
14. Changes to These Terms
CVMatch may update these Terms to reflect changes in its services, functionality, business operations, legal obligations, or other relevant circumstances.
When material changes are made, CVMatch will provide notice through the Platform or another appropriate method where required. The revised Terms will state their effective date.
Continued use after updated Terms take effect may constitute acceptance where permitted by law. Users who do not agree should stop using the Platform and may close their accounts.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Insert Applicable Jurisdiction].
The parties should first attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith communication. Unresolved disputes may be referred to courts or other dispute resolution mechanisms with jurisdiction under applicable law.
Nothing in this section prevents users from exercising statutory rights or making complaints to a competent regulatory authority.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. An affected provision will be adjusted only as necessary where legally permissible.
17. No Waiver
If CVMatch does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean it has waived its right to enforce that provision later. Any waiver must be made in a manner permitted by applicable law.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the CVMatch Privacy Policy and any applicable subscription or service-specific terms, govern use of the Platform, subject to any separate agreements that may apply.
Where a specific service has additional terms, those terms apply to that service to the extent of any inconsistency, subject to applicable law.
